Venture Forward is Canada's Premier Business Plan Competition

2007 Winners
16 students from across Saskatchewan won over $65,000 during an entrepreneurship competition, Venture Forward, held May 16th and 17th at the Delta Bessborough
This year Venture Forward accepted applications from 28 incredibly talented entrepreneurs from across Canada. There were 10 finalists, and 6 of them presented business plans to our judges and were awarded the following prizes:

Winners of $25,000 invested by Cameco were Ryan Chisholm, University of Saskatchewan, Engineering, Laura Donovan, University of Saskatchewan Commerce & Tyrell Foreman, University of Saskatchewan Engineering, with their company Stone Castle Paving Inc. www.stonecastlepaving.com

Winners of the $15,000 invested by PIC Investment Group Inc. were Jason Hoium, University of Saskatchewan Arts & Science, Drew Krainyk, University of Saskatchewan Dentistry & Brad Wallin, University of Regina Business Administration , with their company JBD Golf. www.jbdgolf.com

Elyse & Halayna Frankie won the $10,000 invested by Global Infobrokers and RSVP Event Design for the company Parkland Therapies Inc.

Participants in three other businesses won $2000 awards. They were:

  • Candice McKenzie with Skin Candie Day Spa, SIAST Woodland Campus, Entrepreneurship & Small Business, Prince Albert, Sponsored by Salamon & Ratzlaff Chartered Accountants,
  • Evergreen Arborist, Bevin Andres, Olds College, Alberta, Sponsored by Wiegers Financial
  • Mamchur Pharmaceuticals, Steve Mamchur, University of Saskatchewan Law, Sponsored by Aero Delivery.

2007 Final Judges
